At the start of A Level I was briefed that I would have to create a music video along with two ancillary tasks. From here I chose a song and decided to create a digipak and poster for the band A Day To Remember. I have worked hard on these tasks but some issues have come up, for example labels might not work very well as since a blogger update the labels disappeared. Keep in mind for my evaluation question 3 I could not add in any images without upgrading and paying for the full version of Bubbl.us but I have mentioned what it is I was talking about and therefore had to write down what feedback I got rather than show you it.
I hope you enjoy what I have created, Yours Sincerely

EVALUATION QUESTIONS
Question 1
Question 2
How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?
I think that the combination of my main product to ancillary texts is strong as I show a clear link between them. You can see on my digipak and my poster both photographs are set in the woods
, In my music video I have a few scenes also set in the woods. I have done this as many rock music videos have footage in the woods. I also thought the woods was an effective way to link to the album name "What Separates Me From You" as the woods puts people in isolation as it can be so big and easy to get lost in. I thought this was an interesting concept so I decided to include it in my work. I decided to use the same photographs on my digipak and poster as they both promote the band as you see all band member in the woods as I stated links to the album name nicely. The photographs of the bands show them wearing different clothes to the music video which I did because I thought it is best to show that they are different times as I wouldn't want to try and force a connection onto my work. As it is ancillary tasks it means that I wanted to show it is separate to the music video which is why the costume is different. I feel that a music video, digipak and poster advertising the new album works well it is what you would expect to see. A band when releasing an album promotes it in a magazine which is why I chose to do a poster as well as featuring the front cover of the digipak on it so the audience can identify what product they are looking for when going to buy the new album. In all 3 tasks I included the band members. This worked well as all tasks are used to promote the band making them well known and identifiable. By making the band the focus of the digipak and poster it means that before seeing the video the audience would know who the band are. By having them standing in a specific order you can identify they stand in the same order in the music video showing how I have thought hard about the positioning of the band in the creation of my ancillary tasks.Between my digipak and poster I kept the same colour and font as it is important to continue themes across tasks. I chose the pink colour as it is stands out a lot as well as being unusual to see for a rock / metal core band as you expect to see dark colours but pink is thought to be girly usually. I think it looks nice against the green of the woods especially on the digipak where the leaves made it look like the band name had darker blobs of colour. I think due to these features my main product and ancillary tasks worked well together.
